General Information

CSL (Circuits and Systems Research Laboratory) is an interdisciplinary research laboratory operating within the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University, conducting research in the fields of circuits and systems, signal processing, biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, and smart systems.

Within the scope of the laboratory, theoretical and experimental studies are carried out on biomedical signal processing, ECG-based analysis systems, deep learning applications, electronic system designs, control and systems engineering, smart decision mechanisms, and bioengineering applications.

Prof. Dr. Ayten Atasoy conducts research in control and systems engineering, pattern recognition, signal processing, and bioengineering, with studies on electronic nose technologies and artificial intelligence-based systems. She also has registered patent studies on event-based visual simultaneous localization and mapping methods.

Doç. Dr. Yusuf Sevim conducts research in biomedical engineering, deep learning, smart systems, and biomedical signal processing, with a particular focus on ECG signal analysis and artificial intelligence-assisted health technologies.

Vision

CSL aims to be a leading research laboratory that conducts research at international standards in the fields of circuits and systems, biomedical engineering, signal processing, artificial intelligence, and smart systems, developing innovative, reliable, and human-centered engineering solutions.

The laboratory also aims to develop sustainable and high value-added technologies in the areas of health technologies, smart sensing systems, data-driven decision mechanisms, and artificial intelligence-assisted engineering applications.

Scientific Working Principles

Scientific Reliability Academic integrity, scientific ethics, transparency, and verifiability are accepted as fundamental principles in all research activities.

Interdisciplinary Approach The integrated evaluation of electronics, biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, signal processing, and control systems is encouraged.

Equitable and Inclusive Research Culture An inclusive research environment offering equal opportunities for all researchers regardless of gender, language, religion, nationality, or academic background is adopted within the laboratory.

Balance Between Research and Application Theoretical studies are aimed to be supported by experimental validations, data analytics applications, and real-time system development processes.
