"Horizon Europe Project Writing Training" Carried Out at Our University in Collaboration with KTU TTC and TÜBİTAK
The "Horizon Europe Project Writing Training" organized at our university on April 16–17, 2025, in collaboration with KTU TTC and TÜBİTAK, event was successfully completed with the active participation of our researchers.
Implemented as part of Karadeniz Technical University’s vision to enhance access to international funding sources and encourage researchers in region to participate in European Union projects, the training, brought together public, university and industry stakeholders around common goals.
On the first day of the training, participants received comprehensive information about the overall structure, objectives, and priority areas of the Horizon Europe Programme. In addition, key elements to consider in preparing a successful project proposal and success factors that increase funding chances were discussed in detail. The full proposal development process—from shaping the project idea and forming the right consortium to budget planning and preparing application documents—was thoroughly addressed. A following session covered the evaluation criteria of Horizon Europe, reviewer expectations, and strategies for effective proposal writing.
The second day of the training continued with hands-on group activities that encouraged active participation. Participants had the opportunity to develop their own project ideas and develop strategies within thematic groups convinient for their disciplines. Through these busy group exercises, researchers expanded their collaboration networks and gained valuable practical experience. The training concluded with presentations from the group work sessions.
Aligned with KTU’s research vision, this training made a significant contribution to the university’s internationalization goals and offered a strong starting point for researchers who aims to participate in Horizon Europe projects.
