Black Sea Technology and Innovation Day: Investor Meetings Event

The Black Sea Technology and Innovation Day: Investor Meetings event was was carried out with strong participation, hosted by the Arsin Organize Sanayi Bölgesi (OIZ). The event was organized through the collaboration of Karadeniz Technical University Technology Transfer Application and Research Center (KTU TTC) and Trabzon Arsin OSB, with support from the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) and Trabzon Teknokent.

The event started with opening speeches by KTU TTC Director Lecturer Emrah AYVAZ, Arsin OIZ Board Member Dursun Ali SAKARYA, TCCI President Erkut ÇELEBİ, and our University Chancellor Prof. Dr. Hamdullah ÇUVALCI. At the opening ceremony, which was held with the intense participation of investors, academicians, students, companies and public institution representatives, strong messages were given, especially to increase university-industry cooperation.

During the event, 30 university-developed technologies with high commercialization potential were presented for attendees to explore. At the same time, 10 technology teams had the opportunity to engage in one-on-one meetings with investors and deliver their prepared investor presentations. Innovation and technology-driven prototypes protected by patents were introduced to industry representatives and investors. The day-long technology exhibition drew significant interest, giving participants a chance to directly interact with the developers and gain insight into the showcased innovative products and technologies. The event also featured a panel titled "New Generation Industry: Business Models Globalizing Through Innovation," with speaker Ahmet Sefa BİR, a representative of the in4Startups investment network.

10 technologies selected from 30 were presented to national investment network representatives and Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry investors within the scope of investment presentation and commercialization and licensing opportunities were evaluated.

With the event organized with the cooperation of KTU TTC and Arsin OIZ, especially focusing on World Intellectual Property Day and Patent Week, the meaning and importance of the technology development potential of the region was emphasized and the foundations of strong cooperation between the academy and the business world were laid with the participation of national level investor networks.

Successfully completed with lots of interest and high engagement, the event marked a significant step toward commercializing the region's academic knowledge base.
