Introduction to Technology Transfer: Basic Concepts and Processes

Applications Open for the Training Program "Introduction to Technology Transfer: Fundamental Concepts and Processes"

The training program titled "Introduction to Technology Transfer: Fundamental Concepts and Processes, developed within the scope of the STEIDA - Strengthening the Technology Transfer Ecosystem through Innovative and Digital Approaches Project, supported by the Erasmus+ Programme and coordinated by the Karadeniz Technical University Technology Transfer Application and Research Center (KTU TTM), will be offered to participants through online sessions.

A Digital Network-Enhanced Ecosystem

The STEIDA Project aims to enhance national and international collaboration among universities, academic staff, businesses, students, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders by developing and effectively utilizing digital platforms and cooperation networks.

With its innovative and holistic approach, STEIDA aims to strengthen the technology transfer ecosystem sustainably and promote the dissemination of knowledge-based value creation.

STEIDA Consortium

Under the leadership of our Center, the project brings together strong partner institutions from different European countries:

  • University of Zagreb (UNIZG)

Led by our center, the training program “Introduction to Technology Transfer: Basic Concepts and Processes,” developed in collaboration with project partners from Bulgaria, Spain, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Croatia, aims to strengthen participants' knowledge, skills, and application capacity in the field of technology transfer.

The Training Program Will Enable Participants to:

  • Understand the actors, practices, and contemporary strategies of the technology transfer ecosystem,
  • Specialize in intellectual property management and commercialization processes (licensing, spin-offs, etc.) to strengthen their professional profile,
  • Learn Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and Proof of Concept (PoC) processes, which play a critical role in transforming ideas into products.
  • Accurately assess the commercial potential of innovations through market analysis, segmentation, and IP valuation methods,
  • Explore access to national and international funding sources (grants, angel investors, venture capital),
  • Understand university-industry collaboration models (contract research, strategic partnerships) through real case examples,
  • Gain competence in effective networking strategies, trust-based business relations, and collaboration opportunities in the digital age.

Participation, Certification, and Implementation Details

  • Participants who fully attend the sessions will receive an international certificate of participation approved by project partner institutions.
  • The training sessions are free of charge and will be held online.
  • The program will last for 3 days, totaling approximately 15 hours.
